The University of Toledo (UToledo), a student-centered, public metropolitan research university and academic medical center, seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs.
Reporting directly to the President and working in close partnership with the Provost and senior leadership, the VPRSP serves as the chief research officer for the University. Providing a broad vision and executive leadership for Research and Sponsored Programs, the VPRSP will lead a $68 M research portfolio including a team of 55 professionals across research and sponsored programs, technology transfer, research compliance, economic development, business incubation and venture development, grant development, the Human Research Protection Program, the Department of Laboratory Animal Resources, and research administration. The new leader will inspire a campus-wide vision for research and innovation while maintaining a strong external focus serving as an ambassador, connector, collaborator, and spokesperson with key funding agencies, private foundations, corporations, and other organizations well-positioned to invest in and support the university’s programs, faculty, and students. The VPRSP will work with university leadership to facilitate economic development and support a statewide presence in scholarship, innovation, and entrepreneurship through local and regional industry partners.
